Just one more change...

Whassup homies...

I'm definitely not cool enough to pull that off am I...



As you can see from the title of this post, I'm making another (quite big) lifestyle change. About a month and a half or so ago (13th September to be precise), I posted about how I was going on a 'big journey' to try and lose weight. So many of you got behind me, and it really motivated me to try harder with losing weight. You can read the post here.

Since uni starting again, and everything that goes with it, I have not found the time to exercise nearly as much as I want to. Runs haven't been ran, for a couple of weeks now, simply because I have too much on and it gets too dark for me to go - I am a right pussy when it comes to the dark, even though I live in one of the safest cities in the UK I still have the fear that I'm going to get stabbed or something if I go running in the dark, hence why I try to avoid it as much as possible. 

So I decided to make another change in my lifestyle that will hopefully stop me from eating so much (especially eating out at restaurants). I've decided to go vegetarian! I have been meaning to make the change for so long, but have always found it hard to think of a diet that doesn't have sausage and bacon in it.



I have now properly educated myself on the meat industry, and it's enough to put me off eating meat. And, plus side, I'm not going to want to eat McDonalds, Dominos, and all the rest of them because my normal orders always contain meat, and I'm not adventurous enough to try anything else.

In time, I want to become vegan. This is my personal choice, simply because I don't agree with the exploitation of animals for their product - the diary industry with milk cows is absolutely horrific, as is the mass farming of eggs. A lot of people forget about those industries, but they're almost as bad as the meat industries. The reasons I don't want to go completely vegan straight away is 1) it's too much of a big change in one go, 2) it's too expensive for alternatives for me, and 3) it makes it a lot harder when I go over someone's house (like my own home, or boyfriend's home) as to what they can cook me. My morals are in the right place to be a vegan, just right now it's not practical. I have quit eating eggs full stop now, and I'm trying to find a good milk alternative, but until then I'm just going to class myself as veggie, not vegan. 

So yeah, I'm no longer a meat-eater. It is a big lifestyle change for me, as I ate meat at least once a day, but so far so good. I haven't craved any kind of meat, even if all my housemates are all eating it around me - I'm oddly proud of myself so far!
