Films I want to see - October Edition

Being a film student, and someone who absolutely loves films, I wanted this blog to be more about film as well as beauty and lifestyle. That hasn't happened at all so far, so I'm going to be posted more about film, including monthly instalments of 'films I want to see'.

I have already written one post about the films I wanted to see, which you can read here. Before I get into a new list of films I want to see, I'll do a quick run down of what I've seen from the previous list. When I say quick, I mean quick, as I only got to see one out of the three films I put in my list *sad face*...

What an amazing film this was. It's got a 4-star rating on IMDb, which is totally deserved. It tells the story of the oil rig explosion that happened on the Deepwater Horizon, in the Gulf of Mexico, on the BP-operated Macondo Project. It created the worst oil spill in U.S. history. Going into the cinema, I thought that the action of the film was going to be the selling point, but in fact it was the story told before and after the explosion that got me. It was very emotional, especially towards the end where I cried like a baby.

The casting was incredible, and Mark Wahlberg played the hero perfectly. It was a great tribute to those who lost their lives, and those who experience the horrific event. If you get the chance to go see it before it's not in cinemas anymore, I highly recommend you do. Great film about a horrible story.

Now onto the films I want to see. Like last time, the likelihood of me going to see all that's on my lists is, well, very unlikely. Won't stop me from writing a long-ass list though!

Now, we've all heard of this film. Like all other Marvel films, it's build up is incredible. And who better to play a character in a Marvel film than Benedict Cumberbatch *heart eyes emoji*. The official synopsis is as follows: "Marvel's Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions." I've heard a LOT that Doctor Strange is going to be one of Marvel's most unlikeable protagonists yet... Personally, I can't wait to see what Benedict Cumberbatch brings to the role. The official release is October 28th.

I saw the trailer to this one while watching Deepwater Horizon. It looks like a highly emotional film - one of my favourites. What I got from the trailer is that it's about a World War 2 doctor (or medic is the term used) who refuses to fight and kill people. Throughout the trailer, he is shown as the hero who is constantly helping wounded soldiers back to where they can be safe. It plays on the themes of love, and war, and everything in between, and I for one can say I'm very excited to see how it turns out. Official release of this is something I cannot find anywhere, but the trailer says November, so I guess it's pretty soon?

OH MY GOODNESS HOW EXCITING IS THIS!? Finally, we can re-enter the wizarding world to follow a writer, Newt Schmander. Already, I love the characters name. Everything about this is going to be so fantastic I cannot wait. It's a prequel to the Harry Potter films (YES!), and it's been confirmed that there's going to be a series of five films - it couldn't have just been left where it was, we needed more. I honestly am squirming in my chair at the thought of going to see this in the cinema... HOW EXCITING!!

And there you have it, that is this post's instalment of the films I want to see. Some I'm more excited for than others, but all of them I desperately want to see.

I hope you enjoy these sorts of posts, if not PLEASE let me know! Also, let me know what films you're excited to see!
